What dates are the Christmas markets in Berlin? Generally most open at the end of November and run through to just before or after the 25th of December. Quite a few open specifically on the 27th of November, but be sure to check the information for individual markets!

What is the best Christmas market in Berlin?This depends on the kind of experience you want. The Spandau Christmas Market holds the title of Berlin’s largest Christmas market. However, the city boasts a rich diversity of Christmas markets, catering to various preferences, from family-friendly options to those dedicated to the LGBTIQA+ scene.

How many Christmas markets are in Berlin? There are around 80 Christmas markets in Berlin!

How expensive are the Christmas markets in Berlin? Most of the Christmas markets in Berlin are free and then it’s up to you how much you want to spend! You can save money by eating and drinking away from the markets. However, I think it’s well worth trying some of the dishes on offer to immerse yourself in the experience!

Christmas Market at Charlottenburg Palace

Have you ever wanted to stroll through a holiday market right in front of a majestic palace, all while being treated to the soothing tunes of the market’s live orchestra? If so, the Charlottenburg Palace Christmas market is the perfect choice for you. Christmas market on Alexanderplatz

Situated on one of Berlin’s busiest squares, it’s no wonder the Alexanderplatz Christmas market is one of the most popular Christmas markets in Berlin. Featuring fairground rides, kids’ performances, and a party spot housed within one of the wooden cabins, there’s a lot to keep you entertained here. There’s no shortage of stalls either, over 100 vendors offer traditional and hand-made goods.

Bought to life by the LGBTIQA community, this festival of colour and partying is an experience not to be missed! Despite its lively party atmosphere, Christmas Avenue retains all the traditional elements of a classic Christmas market. Created as a welcoming space where everyone can revel in the festivities, Christmas Avenue stands out as one of Berlin’s most distinctive and inclusive Christmas markets.

Lucia Christmas market at the Kulturbrauerei

A slice of Scandinavia, the Lucia Christmas Market is regarded as one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Berlin. Packed with Nordic gems and delectable Swedish cuisine like elk meatballs, this market is an absolute must-visit. Advent market at the Domäne Dahlemon

One of the best Christmas markets in Berlin for families is the Advent market at the Domäne Dahlemon. Nestled against the picturesque backdrop of the former manor house, this market offers a truly unique experience.   • Christmas market on Potsdamer Platz: The 70-meter-long slide found on Potsdamer Platz over the festive period makes this one of Berlin’s most exciting Christmas markets. Of course, you’ll also find all the traditional food and stalls here too.
