What you need to know
- Is Berlin good for tourists? Absolutely! I think Berlin is great for tourists, there’s so much to see and do.
- What is the main tourist street in Berlin? For me, this would have to be Unter Den Linden and the surrounding area. It’s the site of the Brandenburg Gate and the surrounding area is home to lots of tourist attractions.
- Is Berlin a safe place for tourists? I’ve been to Berlin plenty of times and have never had a problem. Treat it like any other big city, keep your belongings close, be aware of your surroundings and stick to busier areas.
- What attractions in Berlin are free? I have a couple of posts on free things to do in Berlin which I’ve also linked below.

What’s included?
My Berlin tourist map includes over 70 of the most popular sites and attractions the city has to offer! They’re split into the following categories depending on what you want to see and do:
- Historical Sites – There’s no shortage of historical sites and memorials from World War II or the Cold War. Take in the Berlin Cathedral and head on over to the Brandenburg Gate as you learn about the city’s past!
- Museums / Art Galleries – Berlin is home to so many museums and art galleries. Whatever your taste there will be something for you to explore here. Of course, the famous Museum Island has to be top of your list!
- Berlin Wall sites – There are still plenty of spots to see parts of the Berlin Wall within the city centre. I’ve made sure to include them on my map!
- Shopping destinations – If, like me, you enjoy a good mooch around a shopping centre, you’re in luck! Berlin has lots of great stores and shopping centres to browse.
- General Tourist Attractions – There are so many great tourist attractions in Berlin. Take to the sky in the World Balloon, meet some celebrities at Madam Tussauds or check out Potsdamer Platz!
- Parks – Despite being a big city, Berlin has plenty of green spaces to explore the hustle and bustle!
